Regular Season Round 37: Toros - Soles 104-84

The game between third ranked Soles (24-9) and fifth ranked Toros (20-10) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Soles were crushed by Toros in Nuevo Laredo 104-84. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Soles. The game without a history. Toros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game. Toros outrebounded Soles 44-29 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Adrian Henning (203-82, college: Austin Peay St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners and naturalized American forward Quentin Gonzalez (200-84, college: McNeese St.) chipped in 22 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Zach Graham (198-89, college: Mississippi) responded with 24 points and the other American import forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: Long Beach St.) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Toros maintains fifth place with 20-10 record. Soles at the other side keep the third position with nine games lost. Toros are again looking forward to face higher ranked Soles (#3) in Mexicali in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Soles will have a break next round.
