Regular Season Round 27: Dynamo-MGTU - Dynamo-Stavr. 84-64

There was a small surprise in Maykop where fourth ranked Dynamo-MGTU (16-8) smashed 4th placed Dynamo-Stavr. (14-12) 84-64 on Wednesday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Dynamo-MGTU dominated on the defensive end, holding Dynamo-Stavr. to just 6 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Dynamo-Stavr. 46-22 including a 23-5 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for point guard Artem Gaposhin (185-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. Power forward Aleksey Shirokov (205-89) helped adding 15 points and 9 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Dynamo-MGTU's coach Andrei Sinielnikov used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was swingman Aleksandr Samofalov (193-87) with 13 points and guard Igor Gutnev (194-92) scored 10 points. Five Dynamo-MGTU and four Dynamo-Stavr. players scored in double figures. Dynamo-MGTU moved-up to third place in League. Loser Dynamo-Stavr. dropped to the fifth position with 12 games lost. Dynamo-MGTU will face league's second-placed BK Tambov on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
