Regular Season Round 28: Aalborg - Falcon 89-60

The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Aalborg's (9-13) home victory over 9th ranked Falcon (7-16) 89-60 on Saturday. Falcon was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Falcon 36-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. Trinidad and Tobago-Canadian point guard Joey Haywood (185-84, college: St.Mary's) fired 33 points (!!!) and 8 assists for the winners. American forward Joe Burton (201-90, college: Oregon St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. American power forward Taylor Darby (204-90, college: Pepperdine) produced 34 points (!!!) and his fellow American import center Robert Thurman (208-89, college: California) added 7 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Aalborg moved-up to seventh place. Falcon lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with 16 games lost. Aalborg will face higher ranked Horsens IC (#4) in Horsens in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
