Regular Season Round 1: GKS Tychy - Spojnia 60-66

Very important is a home loss of GKS Tychy (0-1) against Spojnia (1-0) on Saturday night. Host GKS Tychy was defeated by Spojnia in a tough game in Tychy 60-66. It looked good early as GKS Tychy took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Spojnia had a 14-12 second period charge getting the lead and GKS Tychy was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 60-66. Swingman Jerzy Koszuta (192-82, agency: Promotex) nailed 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Marcin Stoklosa (185-77) accounted for 17 points. Spojnia's coach Aleksander Krutikov used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. point guard Radoslaw Basinski (188-78) came up with 17 points and 8 rebounds and Piotr Halas (190-87) added 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for GKS Tychy in the defeat. Spojnia's next round opponent will be Astoria Bydg in Bydgoszcz and are hoping to win another game. GKS Tychy will play at home against AZS PP and hope to win that game.
