Regular Season Round 5: Nevezis - Lietkabelis 72-102

Lietkabelis has registered their first victory this season after three consecutive loses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Kedainiai, where they outplayed Nevezis (1-4) 102-72 on Sunday. The game without a history. Lietkabelis led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Nevezis' 20. Lietkabelis shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Nevezis' players. Forward Zygimantas Jonusas (201-82) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and the former international power forward Tautvydas Lydeka (208-83) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Four Lietkabelis players scored in double figures. American guard Rod Camphor (190, college: SW Oklahoma St.) responded with 21 points and forward Andrius Aleksandrovas (197-86) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lietkabelis (1-3) left bottom position moving up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. It was Nevezis' third loss in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Lietkabelis is looking forward to face league's leader Neptunas in Klaipeda in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nevezis will play at home against Mazeikiai (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
