Regular Season Round 2: Karlovka - Iskra Svit 61-81

Very important is a home loss of Karlovka (1-1) against Iskra Svit (1-1) on Wednesday night. Host Karlovka was crushed by Iskra Svit in Bratislava 81-61. The game was mostly controlled by Iskra Svit. Karlovka managed to win second period 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American guard Lakeem Jackson (196-89, college: S.Carolina) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import guard Dave Coley (188, college: Stony Brook) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. Center Ivan Zidzik (208-90, college: NW Nazarene) produced 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and forward Michal Kozar (191-90) added 11 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Iskra Svit will meet at home Prievidza in the next round. Karlovka will play against Nova Ves and hope to win that game.
