Regular Season Round 1: Ironi Nes-Ziona - Maccabi T-A 69-81

Date: October 12, 2014
But Ironi Nes-Ziona was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Tel-Aviv 81-69. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi T-A. Ironi Nes-Ziona was better in fourth quarter 24-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Brian Randle (203-85) who helped to win the game recording 19 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). His fellow American import swingman Devin Smith (196-83, college: Virginia) contributed with 17 points for the winners. American forward Craig Smith (201-83, college: Boston Coll.) answered with 19 points and 6 rebounds and the former international point guard Meir Tapiro (192-75, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 7 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Ironi Nes-Ziona. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Maccabi T-A will have a break next round. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play on the road against Bnei Hasharon in Hod Hasharon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
