Regular Season Round 4: Puente Alto - CD Valdivia 89-99

Deportivo Valdivia can celebrate their first win this season after two consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Puente Alto, where they defeated Puente Alto (0-3) 99-89 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 99-89. Deportivo Valdivia dominated on the defensive end, holding Puente Alto to just 7 points in second quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Deportivo Valdivia looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Rayshawn Goins (198, college: JMU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds and forward Angel Labrin (182-91) who added 33 points (!!!) during the contest. At the losing side American center Dazmond Starke (201-90, college: Ky Wesleyan) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 21 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international point guard Rodrigo Espinoza (183-81) scored 24 points and 4 assists. Four Puente Alto players scored in double figures. Puente Alto's coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Deportivo Valdivia (1-2) left bottom position moving up to seventh place, which they share with CDE Talca. It was Puente Alto's third loss in a row. They still close the standings with three games lost. Deportivo Valdivia will meet at home higher ranked Osorno in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Puente Alto will play against the league's second-placed Colo Colo having rather not much hope for a victory.
