Regular Season Round 3: Gornik - Sudety 76-62

Gornik (3-0) managed to deliver another win on Wednesday. This time they beat Sudety (1-2) in Walbrzych 76-62. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 30-13 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Gornik dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Sudety's 22. They outrebounded Sudety 44-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a quality performance for the former international power forward Piotr Niedzwiedzki (211-93) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 17 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). point guard Rafal Glapinski (183-82) accounted for 11 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. Four Gornik players scored in double figures. Gornik's coach Arkadiusz Chlebda used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Lukasz Niesobski (185-85) came up with 20 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Jaroslaw Wilusz (200-85) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Sudety in the defeat. Gornik will meet Rawia in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Sudety will play against Miedzychod and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
