Regular Season Round 3: Coruna - Burgos 71-68

Important game to mention about took place in Coruna. Leyma Basquet (2-1) saved a 3-point victory at home edging Burgos (1-2) 71-68 on Friday evening. It looked good early as Burgos took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Leyma Basquet had a 18-10 second period charge getting the lead and Burgos was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-71. Burgos was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Trinidad and Tobago center Kyle Rowley (213-90, college: St.Mary's, CA) who led his team to a victory scoring 12 points and 9 rebounds. Serbian Aleksandar Petrovic (204-87) helped adding 18 points. Five Leyma Basquet players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American-Cape Verdean point guard Jeffrey Xavier (187-85, college: Providence) with 14 points and Senegalese center Michel Diouf (208-89) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Leyma Basquet will play against Lobe Huesca on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Burgos will have a break next round.
