Regular Season Round 4: MKS DG 2 - Polonia Bytom 69-78

Everything could happen in Dabrowa Gornicza at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Polonia Bytom and 9th ranked MKS DG 2 had identical 1-2 record. But MKS DG 2 was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Bytom 78-69 on Saturday night. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But MKS DG 2 won third quarter 17-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Polonia Bytom forced 28 MKS DG 2 turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Grzegorz Zadecki (195-83) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Pawel Jurczynski (183-91) who added 27 points during the contest. At the losing side swingman Jakub Zalucki (194-89) responded with 14 points and 9 rebounds and center Piotr Zielinski (200-83) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. MKS DG 2's coach Rafal Knap tested twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Polonia Bytom (2-2) moved-up to fifth place in Group C, which they share with Alba Chorzow and AZS PCz. MKS DG 2 at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the ninth position with three games lost. Polonia Bytom will face Cieszyn (#11) at home in the next round where they are favorite. MKS DG 2 will play against WKK Wroclaw and hope to win that game.
