Castello used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Madrid 82-50 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Castello led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game, while Fuenlabrada only scored eight points from the stripe. Castello forced 20 Fuenlabrada turnovers. Fuenlabrada was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American center Nick Washburn (208-91, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) who led his team to a victory with 15 points. Naturalized Argentinian forward Alejandro Bortolussi (202-89) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Washburn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Castello players scored in double figures. American point guard Aaron Toomey (185-92, college: Amherst, agency: Duran International) answered with 17 points and guard Victor Martin (191-93) added 7 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Fuenlabrada. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Castello will face Araberri in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fuenlabrada will play at home against Meridiano Alicante and hope to win that game.
