Regular Season Round 6: Spojnia - Krosno 53-57

Undefeated Spojnia (5-1) recorded its first loss in Stargard. Hosts were defeated by second ranked Krosno (5-1) 57-53. It looked good early as Spojnia took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Krosno had a 15-8 second period charge getting the lead and Spojnia was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 53-57. Krosno forced 19 Spojnia turnovers. Strangely Spojnia outrebounded Krosno 35-23 including 20 on the defensive glass. Power forward Marcin Salamonik (202-83) notched 16 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and center Dariusz Wyka (209-91) supported him with 7 points and 9 rebounds. Even a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds by power forward Arkadiusz Soczewski (201-82) did not help to save the game for Spojnia. point guard Marcin Stoklosa (185-77) added 13 points and 7 assists. Krosno have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 5-1 record behind leader Stal Ostrow, which they share with Spojnia and Sokol Lancut. Krosno will play against Znicz Basket (#5) in Pruszkow in the next round. Spojnia will play on the road against Pogon Prudnik and hopes to get back on the winning track.
