Regular Season Round 1: Le Mans - Antwerp 72-66

Le Mans used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Antwerp 72-66 on Tuesday night. Antwerp Giants were trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 27-16 charge of Le Mans, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Antwerp Giants to just 7 points in second quarter. Le Mans forced 19 Antwerp Giants turnovers. Polish Michal Ignerski (207-80, college: Mississippi St.) fired 18 points for the winners. American swingman Shy Ely (193-87, college: Evansville) chipped in 13 points and 6 assists. Ugandan-Belgian forward Jean-Marc Mwema (195-89, agency: Court Side) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and American point guard Kyle Fogg (190-90, college: Arizona) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Le Mans will face KTP-Basket in Kotka in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Antwerp Giants will play on the road against Angelico Biella and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
