Regular Season Round 7: Gimbasket Wroclaw - MKS DG 2 45-80

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Gimbasket Wroclaw (0-6) was outplayed at home by ninth ranked MKS DG 2 (2-5) 80-45 on Saturday. The game without a history. MKS DG 2 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Gimbasket Wroclaw to just 3 points in second quarter. MKS DG 2 forced 22 Gimbasket Wroclaw turnovers. It was a great evening for point guard Patryk Wieczorek (187-96) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Grzegorz Malecki (195-84, agency: Promotex) helped adding 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four MKS DG 2 players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Bartosz Zajac (195-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and forward Mateusz Kantarowski (198-93) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted MKS DG 2 maintains ninth place in Group C with 2-5 record. Gimbasket Wroclaw lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. MKS DG 2 will face higher ranked MCKiS Jaworz. (#3) in Jaworzno in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gimbasket Wroclaw will play on the road against Polonia Bytom (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
