Important game to mention about took place in Svit. Seventh ranked Karlovka (4-7) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 4th placed Iskra Svit (7-4) 69-66 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Iskra Svit. It looked good early as Iskra Svit took an 5-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Karlovka had a 26-20 second period charge getting the lead and Iskra Svit was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-69. Karlovka forced 20 Iskra Svit turnovers. It was a great evening for guard Richard Kucsa (189-85) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points. Forward Michal Kozar (191-90) helped adding 10 points and 6 rebounds. Croatian guard Sven Smajlagic (190-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Lakeem Jackson (196-89, college: S.Carolina) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Iskra Svit players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Karlovka maintains seventh place with 4-7 record. Iskra Svit at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Karlovka will play against Nova Ves (#9) at home in the next round. Iskra Svit will play against the league's second-placed Prievidza (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
