Regular Season Round 6: Steaua CSM - CSU Sibiu 78-65

The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Steaua CSM as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Steaua CSM defeated 4th ranked CSU Sibiu in Bucuresti 78-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of CSU Sibiu. The game was mostly controlled by Steaua CSM. CSU Sibiu managed to win fourth quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Steaua CSM had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American power forward Travis Watson (203-81, college: Virginia) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 8 rebounds. The former international Titus Nicoara (202-88, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Steaua CSM players scored in double figures. Steaua CSM's coach Niksa Bavcevic used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Christopher Lee (206-84, college: S.Carolina St.) replied with 14 points and his fellow American import guard LeVar Seals (195-82, college: De Paul) added 13 points in the effort for CSU Sibiu. Steaua CSM (5-0) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. CSU Sibiu at the other side dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. They share the position with Rovinari. CSU Sibiu will play next round against Timba Timosoara trying to get back on the winning streak. Steaua CSM will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked U-Banca TR in Cluj.
