Very important is a road loss of third ranked Polonia Bytom (4-3) against seventh ranked Mickiewicz (4-2) on Sunday night. Visiting Polonia Bytom was crushed by Mickiewicz in Katowice 82-60. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Polonia Bytom. Mickiewicz forced 19 Polonia Bytom turnovers. Power forward Mateusz Migala (202-94) fired 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Guard Karol Leszczynski (190-87) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. Four Mickiewicz players scored in double figures. point guard Pawel Jurczynski (183-91) produced 18 points and 4 assists and power forward Krzysztof Wozniak (195-82) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Mickiewicz. They moved-up to third place in Group C, which they share with MCKiS Jaworz. and WKK Wroclaw. Newly promoted Polonia Bytom dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Pogon RS. Mickiewicz will meet WKK Wroclaw (#5) on the road in the next round. Polonia Bytom will play against Gimbasket Wroclaw and hope to secure a win.
