Regular Season Round 13: Puente Alto - Las Animas 73-79

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Las Animas (6-6) defeated on the road 11th ranked Puente Alto (2-10) 79-73 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 41-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Belizean-American forward Alex Carcamo (200-77, college: E.Washington) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. point guard Ronald Cruces (177-87) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. American forward Donovan Johnson (201-92, college: Ky Wesleyan) produced 29 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import center Dazmond Starke (201-90, college: Ky Wesleyan) added 13 points and 15 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Las Animas maintains seventh place with 6-6 record. Loser Puente Alto keeps the eleventh position with ten games lost. Las Animas will meet higher ranked CD Castro (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Puente Alto will play against Osorno (#6) and hope to secure a win.
