No shocking result in a game in Komarno where third ranked Rieker KN (10-3) smashed 9th ranked Nova Ves (3-10) 104-77 on Saturday. Rieker KN made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Nova Ves turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Forward Matej Marchyn (192-90) stepped up and scored 25 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and Croatian forward Sasa Jankovic (204-84) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists. Four Rieker KN players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-Puerto Rican forward Nikko Acosta (205-89, college: Lamar, agency: Tycoon Sports Inc.) responded with 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and point guard Matej Hrabcak (187-93) scored 15 points and 6 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rieker KN moved-up to second place, which they share with Prievidza. Nova Ves lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with ten games lost. Rieker KN will meet Karlovka (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Nova Ves will play against Levice and hope to secure a win.
