The game in Milano was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers AV Cantu (3-3) played at the court of fifth ranked Armani Milano (4-2). Armani Milano did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 83-64 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of AV Cantu. The game was mostly controlled by Armani Milano. AV Cantu was better in second period 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American-Liberian point guard Joe Ragland (182-89, college: Wichita St.) scored 17 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Lithuanian Linas Kleiza (203-85, college: Missouri) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Armani Milano players scored in double figures. Armani Milano's coach Luca Banchi used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American-Bulgarian center Eric Williams (206-84, college: Wake Forest) with 9 points and 14 rebounds and American point guard Darius Johnson-Odom (187-89, college: Marquette) scored 17 points. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Vanoli CR. Loser AV Cantu dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Armani Milano will face Cimberio Varese (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. AV Cantu will play against Juvecaserta (#16) in Caserta and hope to win that game.
