Regular Season Round 20: Cleveland C. - Denver N. 97-106

Date: November 17, 2014
The Denver Nuggets took the lead from the Cavaliers very early in the second half and never looked back, taking a 106-97 victory over the Wine and Gold at Quicken Loans Arena. The Denver victory snapped a four game winning streak for Cleveland. Ty Lawson and Aaron Afflalo keyed the attack for the visitors with 24 and 23 points respectively. Lawson also dished out 12 assists to lead Denver to the victory. Darrell Arthur was huge off the bench for the Nuggets with 13 points and 11 rebounds, including a 3 of 4 night from beyond the arc. LeBron James, who did not participate in the morning shoot around due to a cold, played 40 minutes and scored 22 points to lead the Cavs in scoring. Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love and Dion Waiters each scored 20 while Love chipped in 11 rebounds and Irving dished out 8 assists. Waiters flurry of hoops brought the Cavs within 6 points early in the fourth, but two straight three pointers by the Nuggets put some distance between them and the home team. Anderson Varejao played 18 minutes, but did not score. The Cavaliers record dropped down to 5-4 with the defending champion San Antonio Spurs coming to Quicken Loans Arena on Wednesday night.
