There was a minor upset when 6th ranked AZS PCz (4-4) was smashed by ninth ranked MKS DG 2 (3-6) in Czestochowa 108-66 on Wednesday. The game without a history. MKS DG 2 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to AZS PCz's 30. MKS DG 2 forced 20 AZS PCz turnovers and outrebounded them 38-21 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for swingman Grzegorz Malecki (195-84, agency: Promotex) who led his team to a victory with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Pawel Zmarlak (195-82) contributed with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five MKS DG 2 players scored in double figures. Forward Michal Dabrowski (200-91) answered with 13 points and 5 rebounds and forward Wojciech Kotlewski (195-84) added 15 points in the effort for AZS PCz. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted MKS DG 2 maintains ninth place in Group C with 3-6 record. Loser AZS PCz keeps the sixth position with four games lost. MKS DG 2 will have a break next round.
