Regular Season Round 15: B.Bystrica - Karlovka 86-84

The most exciting game of round 15 in the Extraliga took place in Banska Bystrica. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Karlovka (5-10) to eighth ranked SKP Banska Bystrica (5-9) 86-84 in the game for the seventh place. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Karlovka won third quarter 25-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. SKP Banska Bystrica forced 20 Karlovka turnovers. It was a great evening for American guard Louis Munks (190-90, college: Prairie View A&M) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 5 rebounds. The former international guard Milan Ziak (190-88) helped adding 14 points and 7 assists. The best for the losing side was guard Richard Kucsa (189-85) with 15 points and 5 assists and forward Michal Kozar (191-90) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. SKP Banska Bystrica moved-up to seventh place. Karlovka lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. SKP Banska Bystrica are looking forward to face higher ranked Handlova (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Karlovka will play against Levice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
