Regular Season Round 10: AZS PGd - KUKS Koszalin 91-81

Very expected game in Gdansk where bottom-ranked KUKS Koszalin (0-8) was defeated by second ranked AZS PGd (6-2) 91-81 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 23-9 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. AZS PGd made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 KUKS Koszalin turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Forward Pawel Pawlowski (196-82) scored 29 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Piotr Renkiel (190-87) chipped in 12 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Four AZS PGd players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Maciej Szewczyk (197-94) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds and Pawel Czubak (186-93) scored 18 points and 4 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. AZS PGd have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted AZS PGd maintains second position in Group A with 6-2 record behind leader Notec. KUKS Koszalin at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with eight games lost. AZS PGd will have a break next round. KUKS Koszalin will play at home against Tczew (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
