Regular Season Round 12: Bayer Giants - Kirchheim 86-70

An interesting game took place in Leverkusen where higher ranked Kirchheim Knights (6-6) were upseton the court of fifteenth ranked Bayer Giants (3-9) 86-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kirchheim Knights. The game was mostly controlled by Bayer Giants. Kirchheim Knights was better in third quarter 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bayer Giants dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Kirchheim Knights' 24. Americans were the main players on the court. The winners were led by point guard Richard Carter (180-92, college: Drake) who scored that evening 26 points and power forward Jake Koch (206-90, college: N.Iowa) supported him with 7 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 18 points by Benjamin Beran (201-84, college: S.Dakota St.) did not help to save the game for Kirchheim Knights. point guard Bryan Smithson (183-85, college: NC-Asheville) added 15 points and 5 rebounds. Bayer Giants moved-up to fourteenth place. Kirchheim Knights at the other side dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Bayer Giants will play against Cuxhaven BasCats (#15) on the road in the next round. Kirchheim Knights will play against Baunach (#13) and hope to get back on the winning track.
