Regular Season Round 11: Krosno - AZS PP 99-71

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Krosno as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Krosno smashed 14th ranked AZS PP at home 99-71. The game without a history. Krosno led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 60.7 percent from the field. Krosno players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by AZS PP's players. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was a great evening for center Dariusz Wyka (209-91) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Power forward Marcin Salamonik (202-83) helped adding 15 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Five Krosno players scored in double figures. Power forward Maciej Rostalski (198-90) responded with 17 points and 9 rebounds and Tomasz Baszak (183-82) scored 19 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they took over a top position. AZS PP lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth place with nine games lost. They share the position with SKK Siedlce. AZS PP will play next round against Znicz Basket trying to get back on the winning streak. Krosno will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Stal Ostrow at Ostrow Wlkp..
