Very predictable result when seventh ranked NH Ostrava (8-10) smashed at home bottom-ranked MMCITE Brno (3-15) 95-73 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by NH Ostrava. MMCITE Brno managed to win third quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. NH Ostrava dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to MMCITE Brno's 42. They outrebounded MMCITE Brno 36-24 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. American power forward Taylor Rohde (205-90, college: Alaska-Anch.) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. His fellow American import forward Fran Dougherty (203, college: Pennsylvania) chipped in 28 points and 7 rebounds. The former international guard Ondrej Dygryn (190-84) produced 12 points and 8 rebounds and forward Jakub Krakovic (205-90) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five NH Ostrava and four MMCITE Brno players scored in double figures. MMCITE Brno's coach Vladimir Paunovic gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. NH Ostrava have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain seventh place with 8-10 record. Loser MMCITE Brno stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. NH Ostrava will meet at home CEZ Nymburk (#9) in the next round. MMCITE Brno will play against BK Lions Hradec in J.Hradec and hope to secure a win.
