Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Polonia Bytom (6-5) lost to first ranked AZS AWF K-ce (10-1) in Katowice 66-76 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by AZS AWF K-ce. Polonia Bytom was better in fourth quarter 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. AZS AWF K-ce forced 19 Polonia Bytom turnovers. It was a good game for guard Lukasz Szczypka (185-80) who led his team to a victory with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Bartosz Stawowski (187-89) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Center Michal Nikiel (205-83) replied with 15 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Krzysztof Wozniak (195-82) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Polonia Bytom. AZS AWF K-ce have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group C with 10-1 record. Newly promoted Polonia Bytom dropped to the sixth place with five games lost. AZS AWF K-ce will face WKK Wroclaw (#5) on the road in the next round. Polonia Bytom will play against Alba Chorzow and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
