Regular Season Round 22: Puerto Montt - Puente Alto 81-90

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Puente Alto and 12th ranked Puerto Montt had identical 2-18 record. But Puerto Montt was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Puente Alto 90-81 on Saturday night. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-81. Puente Alto dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Puerto Montt's 44. Puente Alto forced 20 Puerto Montt turnovers. American center Dazmond Starke (201-90, college: Ky Wesleyan) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Donovan Johnson (201-92, college: Ky Wesleyan) chipped in 24 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Lawrence Tyson (193-88, college: CS San Bernar., agency: Sherman International) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Nicolas Ulloa (170-90) scored 19 points and 4 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Puente Alto maintains eleventh position with 3-18 record. Puerto Montt lost sixth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. Puente Alto will face higher ranked Las Animas (#9) in Valdivia in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Puerto Montt will play at home against Colo Colo and hope to win that game.
