We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when seventh ranked Chalon/Saor (7-6) beat on the road 6th ranked SPO Rouen (7-6) 77-70 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-8. But SPO Rouen won second period 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Chalon/Saor dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to SPO Rouen's 36. They outrebounded SPO Rouen 45-27 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Chalon/Saor moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated SPO Rouen. Chalon/Saor will meet at home higher ranked JDA Dijon (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SPO Rouen will play against Cholet Basket and hope to secure a win.
