Regular Season Round 23: Las Animas - Puente Alto 79-70

There was no surprise in Valdivia where 11th ranked Puente Alto (3-19) was defeated by ninth ranked Las Animas (9-13) 79-70. The hosts were already 16 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 27-20 Puente Alto's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 79-70 at the end of the game. Las Animas dominated on the defensive end, holding Puente Alto to just 3 points in second quarter. It was an exceptional evening for Belizean-American forward Alex Carcamo (200-77, college: E.Washington) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Michael Ernst (187-82) accounted for 15 points and 5 assists for the winning side. American center Dazmond Starke (201-90, college: Ky Wesleyan) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and Exequiel Munoz added 21 points respectively for Puente Alto in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Las Animas maintains ninth place with 9-13 record. Puente Alto at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 19 games lost.
