Regular Season Round 13: Nantes - Poitiers 70-83

There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked Poitiers (6-7) defeated on the road 9th ranked Nantes (6-7) 83-70 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Poitiers. Nantes managed to win third quarter 23-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American-Dominican swingman Jeff Greer (196-79, college: Rutgers) nailed 18 points and 7 assists for the winning side and point guard Carl Ona-Embo (185-89) accounted for 18 points. Ona-Embo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Poitiers players scored in double figures. American Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) came up with 16 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import Marcus Relphorde (198-88, college: Colorado) added 18 points respectively for Nantes in the defeat. Poitiers moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Nantes and St Quentin. Poitiers will meet at home higher ranked Le Portel (#8) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nantes will play against Boulazac Basket and hope to secure a win.
