Regular Season Round 15: Svendborg - Wolfpack 81-78

The most exciting game of round 15 in the Ligaen took place in Svendborg. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Wolfpack (10-5) to third ranked Svendborg (11-3) 81-78 in the game for the third place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Wolfpack. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Svendborg made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Johnell Smith (180-80, college: New Orleans) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). His fellow American import center William Paul (208-88, college: Arkansas Tech) helped adding 17 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American point guard Ryan White (180-88, college: Texas St.) with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Christian Thomsen (200-84) scored 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Svendborg have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain third place with 11-3 record having just two points less than leader Bakken. Newly promoted Wolfpack keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Svendborg are looking forward to face league's leader Bakken in Aarhus in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Wolfpack will play on the road against the league's leader Bakken in Aarhus and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
