No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Kotwica (7-6) crushed 9th ranked Tczew (3-10) in Kolobrzeg 79-56 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 23 points. Kotwica dominated on the defensive end, holding Tczew to just 6 points in third quarter. Kotwica had a 40-28 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Kotwica made 10 blocks. It was a very good performance for Grzegorz Arabas (191-78, agency: Promotex) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Power forward Pawel Lasota (201-96) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Guard Daniel Syldatk (190-84) replied with 19 points and Lukasz Wieczorkowski (-90) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Tczew. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kotwica moved-up to fifth place in Group A. Tczew lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. Kotwica will face league's second-placed AZS UMK Torun on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tczew will play against the league's leader Notec (#1) and hope to win that game.
