Regular Season Round 15: Palmeiras - Uberlandia 79-68

Rather predictable result when tenth ranked Palmeiras (7-8) won against 12th ranked Unitri (4-10) in Sao Paulo 79-68 on Thursday. The game without a history. Palmeiras led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Palmeiras outrebounded Unitri 43-22 including a 32-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American power forward Steven Toyloy (203-87, college: Cincinnati) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). Guard Arlindo Neto (187-86) contributed with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Palmeiras players scored in double figures. Palmeiras' coach Regis Marrelli used entire bench saving starting five for next games. The former international Audrei Parisotto (196-84) answered with 22 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and the former international Luis Felipe Gruber (206-85) added 16 points in the effort for Unitri. Palmeiras maintains tenth place with 7-8 record. Unitri lost their seventh game in a row. They dropped to the thirteenth position with ten games lost. Palmeiras will face Rio Claro (#15) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Unitri will play against Mogi and hope to win that game.
