Regular Season Round 76: Washington W. - Brooklyn N. 80-102

The Washington Wizards returned to the Verizon Center after a 105-99 victory over the Chicago Bulls to take on the Brooklyn Nets. The Wizards have now defeated the Bulls five straight times at Chicago and continue to be a force in the Eastern Conference. The Wizards offense struggled all night long as the team shot just 43% which resulted in a 102-80 beating from the Nets. The Wizards played great defensively during the first quarter, holding the Nets to just 18 points and making just six shots from the field. Andre Miller hit a buzzer-beating floater as the Wizards went on a 9-0 run to close out the first quarter. The second quarter flip-flopped as the Nets started to make their shots and slow down the Wizards offense. The Nets held a slim 43-40 lead during a defensive first half of play. The Nets continued their success from the second quarter and started to shoot with confidence in the paint. Jarrett Jack and Brook Lopez led the way scoring 11 third quarter points as the Nets started to pull away. The Wizards offense continued to struggle as the team continued to miss their shots and also committed six careless turnovers. The Nets defense shut down the Wizards and went on to win 102-80. John Wall led the team in scoring with just 13 points and also added six assists and two steals. Kris Humphries made an impact off of the bench finishing with 12 points and eight rebounds. Marcin Gortat contributed with nine points while shooting 4-7 from the field. Jarrett Jack and Brook Lopez were the main focal points of the Nets offensive both contributing 26 points. Jack also added seven assists and six rebounds. Lopez came off of the bench and also recorded two steals and blocks. Mason Plumlee earned a double-double by scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 boards.
