Regular Season Round 17: C.de Latte BRE - Casalpusterlengo 104-98

Very expected game when 12th ranked Casalpusterlengo (6-11) lost to second ranked C.de Latte BRE (14-3) in Brescia 98-104. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The game without a history. C.de Latte BRE led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Justin Brownlee (201-88, college: St.John's) who had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 4 assists (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). Naturalized Argentinian guard Juan Fernandez (193-90, college: Temple) chipped in 20 points and 8 assists. Brownlee is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. C.de Latte BRE's coach Andrea Diana allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Cuban Howard Sant-Roos (200-91) produced 32 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Giampaolo Ricci (200-91) added 18 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Four C.de Latte BRE and five Casalpusterlengo players scored in double figures. C.de Latte BRE have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They used an opportunity after Tezenis VE lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Newly promoted Casalpusterlengo dropped to the thirteenth place with 11 games lost. C.de Latte BRE's next round opponent will be Mantovana (#12) in Mirandola which should be an easy win for them. Casalpusterlengo will play at home against CZG Veroli and hope to win that game.
