Regular Season Round 18: Ostrow Mazow. - AZS UMCS 55-70

There was no surprise in Ostrow Mazowiecki where 7th ranked Ostrow Mazow. (5-10) was defeated by third ranked AZS UMCS (11-4) 70-55 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by AZS UMCS. Ostrow Mazow. was better in second period 26-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. AZS UMCS looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Ostrow Mazow.'s players. Power forward Mateusz Wisniewski (202-91) had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Adam Mysliwiec (200-90) chipped in 6 points and 17 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was swingman Michal Wojtynski (193-89) with 15 points and forward Piotr Barszcz (198-81) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AZS UMCS have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted AZS UMCS maintains third position with 11-4 record having four points less than leader Notec. Loser Ostrow Mazow. keeps the seventh place with ten games lost. AZS UMCS will face Wisla Krakow (#5) at home in the next round. Ostrow Mazow. will play against the league's second-placed Gimbasket Przemysl and hope to win that game.
