Regular Season Round 19: Asseco II - KUKS Koszalin 68-53

No shocking result in a game in Gdynia where fourth ranked Asseco II (10-5) defeated bottom-ranked KUKS Koszalin (0-17) 68-53 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Asseco II. KUKS Koszalin was better in second period 16-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding KUKS Koszalin to just 7 points in third quarter. Asseco II forced 22 KUKS Koszalin turnovers. Michal Kolodziej (200-97) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Chilean forward Christopher Paredes (194-90, college: Simon Fraser) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Center Maciej Szewczyk (197-94) produced 16 points and 8 rebounds and guard Michal Dudek (182-88) added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Asseco II have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Newly promoted Asseco II maintains fourth place in Group A with 10-5 record. KUKS Koszalin at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with 17 games lost. Asseco II will face Trefl II Sopot (#5) on the road in the next round.
