Regular Season Round 19: Latina Basket - Scafati 78-66

Date: January 25, 2015
An interesting game took place in Latina where 12th ranked Scafati (7-11) was upset on the court of fifteenth ranked Latina Basket (7-12) 78-66 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Latina Basket. Scafati was better in fourth quarter 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American swingman Drake Reed (196-87, college: Austin Peay St., agency: KMG Sports Management) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Marco Portannese (192-89, agency: SPORTlab Agency) helped adding 14 points. Four Latina Basket players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Jeremy Simmons (204-89, college: Charleston, agency: Interperformances) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Valerio Spinelli (185-79) scored 10 points and 6 assists. Scafati's coach Alessandro Finelli rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Latina Basket moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Roseto and Matera. Scafati at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Latina Basket will face higher ranked Legnano (#10) in Castellanza in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
