A2 Gold top team - Tezenis VE (17-3) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat seventh ranked Trieste (10-10) in Verona 80-71. The hosts were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 25-23 Trieste's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 80-71 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Trieste 43-31 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a quality performance of American power forward Darryl Monroe (198-86, college: George Mason) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and the former international swingman Giorgio Boscagin (196-83) who added 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. American forward Murphy Holloway (201-90, college: Mississippi) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and international Stefano Tonut (194-93) scored 20 points and 5 steals. Five Tezenis VE and four Trieste players scored in double figures. Trieste's coach Eugenio Dalmasson rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Tezenis VE have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-3 record. Trieste at the other side keeps the seventh place with ten games lost.
