Regular Season Round 17: KK Zagreb - Gorica 97-85

No shocking result in a game when third ranked KK Zagreb (11-5) beat at home 8th ranked Gorica (6-9) 97-85. The game was mostly controlled by KK Zagreb. Gorica was better in fourth quarter 29-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Gorica 45-33 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. KK Zagreb players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Bosnian forward Miralem Halilovic (205-91, agency: Alti Sport) stepped up and scored 26 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and point guard Luka Bozic (199-96) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Marko Petrovic (192-91, college: USF) responded with 20 points and center Ivica Zubac (212-97) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for KK Zagreb. They maintain third place with 11-5 record behind leader GKK Sibenik. Gorica lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. KK Zagreb will play against league's second-placed Kvarner in Rijeka in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gorica will play at home against KK Zabok (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
