Eighth-ranked Hapoel Kazrin (8-9) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Hapoel Afula (12-5) on Tuesday. Hapoel Afula managed to secure only one-point victory 87-86. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hapoel Kazrin won third quarter 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Naturalized American guard Stu Douglass (190-90, college: Michigan, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) stepped up and scored 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. Four Hapoel Afula players scored in double figures. American power forward Germain Jordan (198-86, college: Dillard, agency: Court Side) responded with 24 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Russian power forward Anton Kazarnovski (205-85) scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. Hapoel Afula moved-up to third place, which they share with Netanya and Hapoel Migd.H. Hapoel Kazrin lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Elitzur Ashkelon. Hapoel Afula is looking forward to face GreenTops Netanya (#4) on the road in the next round. Hapoel Kazrin will play against Hapoel Migd.H. (#3) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
