Second Stage Round 4: Le Mans - Gussing 93-60

Rather expected game when 4th ranked Austrian Gussing Knights (1-3) were rolled over on the road by first ranked French Le Mans (3-1) 93-60 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Le Mans led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Gussing Knights' 28. They outrebounded Gussing Knights 35-21 including 26 on the defensive glass. Point guard Rodrigue Beaubois (186-88, agency: Comsport) fired 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American swingman Shy Ely (193-87, college: Evansville) chipped in 15 points. Five Le Mans players scored in double figures. American forward Travis Taylor (203-90, college: Xavier) produced 20 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Christopher Dunn (189-83, college: W.Virginia St.) added 12 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Le Mans have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group J with 3-1 record. Gussing Knights lost third consecutive game. Defending Austrian champion stay at the bottom place with three games lost. Le Mans will face JSF Nanterre on the road in the next round. Gussing Knights will play against Usak and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
