Regular Season Round 6: Taiyuan T. - Chunghua T. 59-66

WSBL round 6 most important game was a victory of Chunghwa Telecom over second-best Taiyuan Textile 66-59 on Thursday night. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Taiyuan Textile was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Chunghwa Telecom made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Taiyuan Textile turnovers. It was a good game for the former international swingman Chien-Hui Hsu (171-89) who led her team to a victory with 26 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Hong-Ying Huang (165-89) contributed with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners. The former international center Pei-Chen Tsai (186-84) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and international forward Ying-Chieh Wu (179-92) added 17 points in the effort for Taiyuan Textile. Taiyuan Textile's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Chunghwa Telecom (3-3) moved-up to second place. Taiyuan Textile lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the third position with four games lost. Chunghwa Telecom are looking forward to face league's leader Cathay Life in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Taiyuan Textile will play against Taipower and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
