Regular Season Round 20: Anwil - Polpharma 95-93

Fourteenth-ranked Polpharma (5-15) gave a tough game to ninth ranked Anwil (9-11) in Wloclawek on Saturday. Anwil managed to secure only two-point victory 95-93. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Polpharma won third quarter 26-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Anwil dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Polpharma's 44. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Chase Simon (198-89, college: Detroit Mercy) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 4 assists and naturalized German forward Konrad Wysocki (200-82, college: Princeton) who added 19 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) during the contest. The former international power forward Mateusz Jarmakowicz (208-88) responded with 22 points and 7 rebounds and Bartosz Bochno (193-88) scored 18 points. Four Anwil and five Polpharma players scored in double figures. Anwil moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Trefl Sopot. Polpharma lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with 15 games lost. Anwil will face Trefl (#8) in Sopot in the next round. Polpharma will play on the road against the league's second-placed PGE Turow (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
