Very important is a road loss of third ranked AZS Koszalin (15-5) against sixth ranked Energa Czarni (12-7) on Sunday night. Visiting AZS Koszalin was defeated by Energa Czarni in a tough game in Slupsk 76-84. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of AZS Koszalin. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 18-14. But AZS Koszalin won second period 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. AZS Koszalin was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American point guard Jerel Blassingame (175-81, college: UNLV) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 assists and swingman Karol Gruszecki (193-89, college: Texas Arlington) supported him with 22 points. Four Energa Czarni players scored in double figures. Even 30 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists by American forward Qyntel Woods (202-81, college: N.Mississippi JC) did not help to save the game for AZS Koszalin. His fellow American import Devon Austin (202-87, college: Manhattan) added 6 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. AZS Koszalin's coach Igor Milicic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Energa Czarni have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 12-7 record. AZS Koszalin at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. Energa Czarni will play against Asseco (#7) in Gdynia in the next round. AZS Koszalin will play at home against Stabill Jezioro (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
