Regular Season Round 21: Nantes - Angers BC 67-64
Date: February 17, 2015
Very expected game when 18th ranked Angers BC (2-19) was edged on the road by ninth ranked Nantes (11-10) 67-64 on Tuesday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Angers BC was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Angers BC 46-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. Angers BC was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American swingman Marcus Relphorde (198-88, college: Colorado) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import Storm Warren (201-88, college: LSU, agency: I.D.S. Law) chipped in 8 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Gregg Thondique (202-87, college: Virginia Union, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded 8 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Gaylor Curier (197-92) added 14 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Nantes moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Le Portel. Angers BC lost thirteenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 19 lost games. Nantes will face higher ranked Olympique Antibes (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Angers BC will play against Saint-Quentin (#10) and hope to win that game.
