Very expected game in Torun where 15th ranked Wikana Start (5-15) was crushed by eleventh ranked Twarde Pierniki (8-12) 84-62 on Wednesday. Twarde Pierniki looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American LaMarshall Corbett (188-88, college: Angelo St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists and Canadian center Sean Denison (211-85, college: Santa Clara) who added 18 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Twarde Pierniki players scored in double figures. Power forward Tomasz Wojdyla (200-77) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds and American center Robert Lewandowski (208-89, college: Texas Tech) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Twarde Pierniki have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Polfarmex KT. Wikana Start at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the bottom position with 15 games lost. Twarde Pierniki will face MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (#12) on the road in the next round. Wikana Start will play against Rosa (#4) and hope to win that game.
